Even at 3,000 workers, you're talking $10.5 million, and likely more given the cost of healthcare goes up when everyone is covered. There seems to be a delusion that this is peanuts, when in fact, it's a huge % of overall revenue, which is impacts shareholders greatly.

I worked at Regal for nearly six years in a variety of positions and I was able to see the operations from a variety of locations. A hypothetical figure of 10,000 full-time employees would be a bit of an over-estimate. Working within the theaters, it is the company's policy that no one other than management are to be full-time. That means in my primary location, which kept it's total employment around 45-50 people, didn't have more than five or six full-time employees in any given period. Every theater I visited or worked at during my time with that company, this didn't change at all. Only the management (and the high-ranking management, at that -- the general manager, assistant general manager, and so on) were full-time. That's around 13% if I'm very generous. If their theaters across the country are ran the same way their Californian locations are, then full-time theater employees would make up less than 3000 workers, meaning they would have to have an excess of 7000 full-time workers in their corporate division to meet your evaluation. Considering the theaters and the employees that staff them are the backbone of that company, this is unlikely.

Nice broad generalization. Let's look at the figures. Regal has 22,000 total employees. Let's figure 10,000 of them are full-time. With an average healthcare cost of $3,500 per individual per year to comply with Obamacare (a rather conservative estimate, based on projections, but I'm figuring the average age of their employees is on the younger side), that's $35 million. Or about 25% of the entire company's net income last year.

Gee - Regal is great. Dump their employees on to the emergency care system so the tax payers can pay their bills while they continue to reward their executives with multi million dollar pay checks.
