I could argue with almost everything I read about The World's End. The "action" is something I question the most, because there's no logic behind it whatsoever. Can such primitive stuff as drinking, running, yelling, arguing and swearing be considered action? Or maybe smashing puppet-like creatures that break like plastic is action - but what's the point of it, if their broken parts get together again? The alien robots claiming they are representatives of a superior intelligence act like psychos but negotiate their wonderful mission like diplomats...and then just drop it, all of a sudden (why?), give it up like idiots just because two drunk guys say they want to stay the way they are and continue doing what they like - drinking and having fun. How does all that hold together?

Great review. Although, I think you had a small SPOILER ALERT with the mom dying thing. It's a lot funnier if you don't know he was lying about that.
