I hear that this new United Kingdom trailer for Prometheus, which drops stateside on June 1, is much more plot-heavy than the elegiac, style-driven prior releases. I say “I hear” because I’m already sold on seeing the Ridley Scott-directed sci-fi film, so I’m not watching this. But don’t let me stop you from doing so!
In addition to marking Scott’s return to the genre that made him a big name in cinema, Prometheus is also the industry’s next big movie designed to push 3-D, following in the footsteps of James Cameron’s Avatar. Unlike Avatar, however, rumor is that Prometheus may receive an R rating and, if that’s the case, Fox will accept it, rather than cut any content. That means Scott’s vision will be pure, for better or for worse (we hope the former).
