The first teaser trailer for Disney/Pixar’s “Monsters University,” a prequel to their immensely popular “Monsters Inc.,” has hit the web. Despite being college-aged in the new film, Mike and Sully seem very similar to their older selves, so fans of the original should be very excited for this one. (I personally think “Monsters Inc.” lesser Pixar, so I’m cautiously optimistic about “Monsters University.”) Directing honors have gone to Dan Scanlon, whose previous credits at the studio are for short-films, continuing the Pixar tradition of promoting their own.
Disney actually released four versions of the teaser, but they’re all so similar that I’m only embedding one above. Click the link if you’d like to check out the subtle differences.
“Monsters University” is set to hit theaters next summer, on June 20, 2013.
