In what should prove bigger news than any of the awards handed out, the first trailer for “The Perks of Being a Wallflower” got its premiere at the MTV Movie Awards tonight. The film, which Stephen Chbosky adapted from his own very popular novel, stars Emma Watson, Logan Lerman, and Ezra Miller. It certainly appears edgier than the usual teenybopper fare, dealing with mental illness and originally receiving an R-rating before Summit successfully appealed, but it sounds like the movie is on its way to becoming a breakthrough hit.
We shall see when “The Perks of Being a Wallflower” storms U.S. theaters on September 14.
