If you’ve listened to the Critic Speak Podcast in recent months, you know that James and Danny have been pretty disappointed in this year’s crop of summer blockbusters. But even when summer movies aren’t so good, what never changes is the dependable pleasure of movie theater concessions. And what could help ease your suffering during “After Earth” or “The Hangover Part III” better than an ice cream bar—more specifically, a Klondike Bar. Sure, cinema air-conditioning is a nice respite from the heat of summer, but the experience isn’t complete without the creamy, crunchy, chocolatey goodness of a Klondike.
Of course, you can obtain a Klondike just as easily—sometimes more easily, given the fact that certain horribly incomplete cinemas don’t stock Klondike—in your grocery store freezer aisle and eat one (or six) as you take in a DVD or TV series at home. Actually, the treats make a great pairing with reruns “Fresh Prince of Bel-Air,” as actor Alfonso Ribeiro (who of course played Carlton Banks) has just paired with Klondike for their famous “What Would You Do For a Klondike Bar?” promotion.
