Today, teasers for two of the most anticipated upcoming films–which couldn’t be more different from one another–hit the web. The more exciting of the pair is the one for Paul Thomas Anderson’s The Master, starring Joaquin Phoenix in his return to formal acting. The teaser does exactly what it should — it doesn’t let you know much about the movie’s plot, but emphasizes the mood and tone of the project. I don’t like the Internet’s tendency to obsess over promotional materials like this, but even I watched it twice. The Master opens in limited release on October 12.
Then there’s Anchorman: The Legend Continues, which premiered in front of The Dictator last week, but given that you probably didn’t see Sacha Baron Cohen’s box office under-performer, here is your chance. The movie hasn’t started shooting yet, but that hasn’t kept Will Ferrell and company for recording a promo in costume. Anchorman 2 will come out sometime in 2013, probably during the summer.
