Chuck Norris Facts: He carries a rifle in “The Expendables 2”

They say old soldiers never die, they just fade away. Fortunately for fans of silly action movies and preposterous TV shows, Chuck Norris is an exception to the rule.

Today a new publicity image of Chuck Norris in “The Expendables 2” was released, inspiring giddy delight in fans anticipating the action star bonanza. In the photo, Norris is seen toting a G36 rifle, walking away from a burning car as if it were no big deal. No word on whether or not the car is burning because of him, but doubtlessly he either just killed or is about to kill someone.

Earlier this year, fans were stricken with terror when writer and star Sylvester Stallone indicated in an interview that the film was going to be rated PG-13, instead of the harder R of the previous installment. Norris concurred in an interview, leading industry-ignorant fans to blame the “Walker, Texas Ranger” star for watering down the movie. Later, Stallone backtracked, confirming that the film will be rated R, after all.

“The Expendables 2” will feature also icons such as Jet Li, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jason Statham, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Bruce Willis, and, of course, Sylvester Stallone, who also penned the script. Simon West directs, and the film is scheduled for an August 17 release. Why Steven Seagal isn’t onboard is unclear, though with a busy schedule of butchering puppies and chickens, it’s easy to see why he might have his hands full. The picture can be found here.
