Kurt Russell, Sacha Baron Cohen slip free from Tarantino’s Django Unchained

Quentin Tarantino’s latest film has just lost two of its biggest stars.

Sacha Baron Cohen and Kurt Russell have both exited Django Unchained, Tarantino’s latest work that’s currently filming. Cohen told Howard Stern that he was unable to shoot his part because of press work for his upcoming comedy The Dictator. On the other hand, sources say that Russell was simply unhappy with the film and his part, walking off the set as a result.

Cohen’s character plays a brief but important role in Tarantino’s script, though could likely be cut without much impact on the overall product. Russell’s character, on the other hand, has a decent amount of screen time, meaning that his part would be more difficult to cut around in the event that it isn’t recast. The film will still have plenty of star power in the form of Leonardo DiCaprio, Jamie Foxx, Christoph Waltz, and many others.

Django Unchained is set to hit theaters this Christmas.
